Born from a McKeesport-area family manufacturing business that began making cleaning products in the 1930s, Apter Industries produces wholesale cleaning chemicals for commercial, industrial, food-service and residential use. The company first proved its formulas in Pittsburgh’s steel mills, then expanded into nationwide retail programs and now also develops private-label products with low minimums. Its Pennsylvania plant continues that practical, performance-first tradition through brands such as Garage Gorilla and Gorilla Powersport Products.
