Aquaspace Water Systems develops water filtration systems built around its proprietary Aquaspace Compound, an adaptation of NASA technology first developed by founder Michael Pedersen in 1981. The company’s systems are used in settings ranging from homes to Washington, D.C. public schools, where Aquaspace says its filters serve nearly 4,000 fountains and kitchenette sinks. Based in Forestville, Maryland, Aquaspace also makes whole-house air cleaners alongside its water-treatment equipment.
