ASTRO America is a nonprofit applied-research organization that helps government and aerospace and defense partners move advanced manufacturing technologies and materials from development into qualified production. Its unusual footprint spans regional production laboratories, including the world’s largest metal 3D printer at Rock Island Arsenal and the Guam-based GAMMA center being built for on-demand naval sustainment. The organization also develops manufacturing policy and supply-chain strategies, including the hypersonic production accelerator blueprint commissioned by DARPA.
