Founded in 2006 by software and mechanical engineers in Columbia, Maryland, Autani develops intelligent building automation and energy management systems that connect lighting, HVAC, and other building technologies. Its open-platform EnergyCenter system is designed to work with existing commercial equipment rather than lock customers into proprietary hardware. Autani says its solutions serve more than 500 customers across over 150 million square feet worldwide, and the company won the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2023 L-Prize for the Connected Systems Track.
