BioSherpa, LLC develops the BioSherpa Specimen Transport System, a biofilm-reducing diagnostic agent designed to help laboratories culture infectious pathogens even after patients have received antibiotics. The system grew from infectious-disease research conducted by founders Tom Cumbo and Destin Radder in Nepal and Peru, and was later developed with physician and former Army officer Christopher Hutson. Its research includes cases where BioSherpa STS identified pathogens missed by standard collection methods, including a case involving three days of effective antibiotic treatment.
