Black Cloister Brewing Company brews craft beer in Toledo’s Warehouse District, pairing a seven-barrel system with a taproom inside a historic 1874 Victorian building. Founded by four Lutherans and shaped by pastor and Certified Cicerone Tom Schaeffer, the brewery draws on monastic and Martin Luther history while building community around its “Brew Good. Do Good.” purpose. It gives a percentage of profits back to the Church and raises money for nonprofit groups and worthy causes.
