For more than 30 years, Bronx-based CEC Elevator Cab Corp. has manufactured and developed elevator cabs and cab accessories, now including its patented Sterilyft air-purifying and sterilizing system. Sterilyft uses continuous air circulation, MERV 13 filtration, and UV-C light in a semi-closed-loop design based on hospital sterile-room systems. The company says the system is made and assembled in the Bronx and has been recognized as a winner of New York City’s 2020 Department of Buildings Innovation Challenge.
