Dating to 1840, Centre Foundry & Machine Company produces heavy-section gray iron castings for specialty steel and ferro-alloy producers from its Wheeling, West Virginia foundry. The company operates a 100,000-square-foot facility capable of producing more than 100 tons a day, with casting capacity up to 55 net tons and 200 inches in height. Its long history includes early work on nail and rolling-mill machinery before the foundry shifted toward the specialty steel castings it makes today.
