Founded in Hazleton in 1912, Citizen Publishing Co. is a family-owned, three-generation commercial printer serving the Greater Hazleton Area. It began by publishing the Slovak-language newspaper Slovensky Obcan for Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Eastern European immigrant communities and later grew into a custom printing operation for local businesses, industrial firms and professionals. Today, the company works from the historic Sargent Industrial building, the former Duplan Silk Mill, while also producing its distinctive lottery calendar tickets and other custom print work.
