Founded by Ellie in 2014 as a high-school engineering project, Philadelphia-based Cocoa Press builds 3D chocolate printers for personalized, on-demand confections. The company grew from Ellie’s hobby into a full-time venture after her 2019 Penn Engineering graduation, with its printers designed to create edible shapes and textures without custom molds. Cocoa Press also builds on and contributes to open-source hardware and software, including a donation of $5 from each machine sold to Marlin development.
