Born from a sunset glimpse of Orient Point’s Coffee Pot lighthouse, Coffee Pot Cellars has made small-batch wines from 100% North Fork of Long Island fruit since Adam Suprenant founded the Cutchogue winery in 2008. Suprenant brings more than 30 years of winemaking experience, a UC Davis master’s degree in enology, and training at Château Lafite Rothschild and in Napa Valley to a traditional, minimalist approach. The winery’s intimate tasting room is hosted by Suprenant and Laura Klahre, with a focus on the character of Long Island wine country and conservation efforts such as its Merlot for Monarchs program.
Channing Daughters WineryFounded from Walter Channing’s first Bridgehampton vines in 1982, Channing Daughters Winery makes small-batch Long Island wines by hand from its 28-acre estate and selected North Fork sites. The winery is distinctive for growing more than two dozen grape varieties—including several rarely planted on the East End—and for experimenting with field blends, skin fermentation and indigenous yeast while producing about 14,000 cases a year. Castello di Borghese VineyardLong Island’s founding vineyard, Castello di Borghese Vineyard makes old-world-style wines on the North Fork, from grapes it farms and handles by hand through bottling and distribution. Ann Marie and Marco Borghese purchased the vineyard in 1999, and second-generation sole owner Giovanni Borghese now leads the small team with a focus on terroir, minimal manipulation, and patient aging.
