Founded in 1944 in a Long Island barn to solve military icing problems, Cox & Company designs and manufactures aerospace ice-protection and temperature-control systems. Its 110,000-square-foot Plainview facility includes the largest privately held icing wind tunnel in the United States, allowing the company to take systems from design through testing, production and repair. Cox became a 100% employee-owned ESOP in 2004 and is now part of Hutchinson.
