Founded in 1955 in Hewlett and based in Holbrook since 1970, Crestwood Metal Corp. recycles primarily aluminum and other non-ferrous scrap, along with electronics and steel. Its 5-acre facility operates as a secondary smelter and industry wholesaler, buying material from recyclers and government entities and processing it with capabilities beyond those of a typical scrap yard. Crestwood serves retail, industrial, wholesale, and government customers while meeting Department of Environmental Conservation air-quality and emissions standards.
