Since 1976, Crystalizations Systems, Inc. (CSI) has designed and manufactured conservation-safe storage systems for museums, galleries, foundations and private collections. Founded by former aerospace project engineer Nelson Young, the Long Island company brought aircraft-industry materials knowledge to museum storage, beginning with the 13 wings, planes and blades of Alexander Calder’s National Gallery mobile. CSI now custom-installs systems internationally, including its movable Transporter units and PerfectFit painting storage kits.

• Inner Space SystemsFounded in 1976 as Kenbett Systems and Products, Inner Space Systems designs and installs space-saving storage and modular casework for institutions ranging from hospitals and laboratories to libraries and archives. The Brewster, New York, company has remained in the industry through multiple generations of leadership and is now owned by Andrew Rakowsky, an industry veteran who joined Inner Space in 2006.
