• Suji CeramicsFrom a New York studio, Suji Ceramics turns a love of houseplants and pottery into handmade ceramic planters, jewelry, and small home goods. Ceramicist Suji began making her own planters after running out of distinctive homes for a collection that grew to more than 130 plants, and she still designs pieces around the beauty of the plants they hold. Every product is made from start to finish by Suji in New York, so each one carries the small variations of handwork and clay.

  Hot Mud StudioFrom her basement studio in Kingston, Susan Whelan creates one-of-a-kind ceramic art, including commissioned pieces for homes and important milestones. Whelan found clay in her fortieth year after studying fashion design, and her work often follows the medium’s transformation from wet earth to durable, colorful art. Hot Mud Studio began as a teaching pottery studio on 9-9-99 and has since become the home of Whelan’s individual practice, including her ongoing series inspired by the patterned bark of aspen trees.HASTINGS ON HDSN, NY
