Pete Dejana founded the company in 1957 after serving in the Marine Corps, beginning with a three-bay service station on Long Island. A chance repair job for New York Telephone led Dejana into building trucks to the customer’s specifications, and the business has since grown into an American manufacturer and upfitter serving commercial fleets, utilities, and municipalities. Its Kings Park headquarters now includes 75,000 square feet of manufacturing space, reflecting the scale of a company that still traces its identity to hands-on service.
