Since Merritt Heck started Eagle Laboratory Glass Company just outside Cleveland in 1968, this small family business has made and repaired borosilicate laboratory glassware. Daughter Yvonne began glassblowing there in 1981, bought the company in 1994, and remains its owner and lead glassblower, while her son carries the craft into a third generation. The Painesville shop produces catalog and custom pieces to order and repairs damaged glassware when replacement would cost more.
