Born from doctoral research that began in 2012, Falcon Fuel Cells develops compact, fuel-flexible power systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. Founded by Michael Waller, PhD, and John V. Foley, the Rochester company uses proprietary high-temperature PEM technology designed to give UAVs substantially longer flight times and greater payload capacity than conventional battery systems. Its work spans military surveillance and retail delivery drones, with technology compatible with fuels including hydrogen and propane.
NEOEx Systems, IncFounded in 2015 by aerospace engineer Mark S. Haberbusch, NEOEx Systems is an Elyria company known for extending the capabilities of unmanned aircraft through liquid-hydrogen power technology. Its team works with UAV manufacturers to integrate onboard systems and supports operators with liquid-hydrogen refueling services.AMHERST, OH
Event 38 Unmanned SystemsSince 2011, Richfield’s Event 38 Unmanned Systems has designed, manufactured, and tested fixed-wing VTOL drones and custom UAS solutions in the United States. Its open-architecture aircraft support demanding missions ranging from aerial mapping to surveillance, with more than 600 drones delivered to customers in over 50 countries. Founder and President Jeff Taylor remains personally involved in the engineering and design of each aircraft, while the company also develops specialized systems such as its hydrogen-powered VTOL demonstrator and heavy-lift eVTOL.RICHFIELD, OH

Unmanned AeronauticsFounded in 2015 by aerospace manufacturer Jon Ragland in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Unmanned Aeronautics builds American-made fixed-wing unmanned aircraft for surveillance, security, mapping and surveying. Its GhostRay UAS has operated around the clock in harsh, remote conditions under a U.S. Department of State contract supporting the Kenya Defense Force, while the smaller XRay platforms bring VTOL and large-area mapping capability to commercial and civil-government work. The company also designs and manufactures its aircraft in-house and provides pilot, payload-operator and maintenance training.336411CENTRAL CITY, PA
