Artist and woodworker Ken Landauer founded FN Furniture in 2017, building a Hudson Valley company around affordable, comfortable design with an activist’s zero-waste approach. Its furniture is locally fabricated from carefully nested plywood or recycled plastic parts, leaving almost nothing behind from each sheet. The work has been installed in museums including New York’s Museum of Arts and Design and the Tang Museum.

Odd Numbers StudioFounded by Andrew Patterson in 2020, Odd Numbers Studio is a Hudson Valley design practice that creates simple, affordable furniture and other products with an emphasis on sustainability. Everything is designed and made in the Hudson Valley, using locally sourced FSC-certified hardwood and finishes chosen so customers can repair rather than replace their pieces. The studio also partners with a small local manufacturer for some production, using automation to keep prices accessible without compromising the design.
Redu StudiosRedu Studios turns New York’s rescued construction waste into custom furniture, commercial interiors, and tiny homes, using materials that are 99% reused. H.CO HandmadeFrom a five-acre Hudson Valley homestead, Max and Jordan Hoener run H.CO Handmade, a family-owned design-and-build firm making handcrafted furniture from locally sourced wood. The Millbrook studio combines clean modern design with Japanese woodworking and traditional joinery, often turning storm-fallen or client-saved trees into “Full Circle” pieces. H.CO was named Best Furniture Maker in the Hudson Valley by the 2025 Chronogram Readers’ Choice Awards.
Fallen IndustryFallen Industry is a Brooklyn-based sustainable design studio that handcrafts custom live-edge furniture and architectural elements from fallen trees and reclaimed wood. Founded by New York artist Paul Kruger, the studio grew from his 2008 practice of turning discarded Hudson River driftwood into sculpture and furniture.
