Garden Gate Greenhouse, Inc. is a Central Indiana grower-specialist and retail garden center that produces roughly 75% of its crops on-site across more than 70,000 square feet of covered growing and display space. Founded as Sease’s Greenhouse in 1975, the Peru business was renamed Garden Gate in 2008 and came under the ownership of former high-school apprentice Marlin Carpenter in 2011. Its display gardens, free workshops, and Celebration Gardens event spaces reflect a long-running focus on horticultural education and community life.
Donald A. Schuster GreenhouseSince Donald Schuster opened his Elyria greenhouse in 1964, Donald A. Schuster Greenhouse has grown bedding plants and other garden plants for local customers and wholesale buyers. Now run by the founder’s sons Ed, Steve, and Chuck, the third-generation family-owned greenhouse grows most of its retail plants on site and turns to pumpkins and seasonal farm activities in the fall. Keith and Candi Scheiderer opened the greenhouse 27 years ago, and the business is best known for its carefully grown hanging baskets, including its exclusive Basket Bud collection.
