Guardian RF grew out of a group of Georgetown University classmates studying physics and signal processing, whose work took them into Ukraine supporting local defense units. The Washington, D.C., company now develops passive RF sensing technology for persistent low-altitude airspace awareness, serving defense and public-safety organizations without emitting signals.

Hidden Level, IncFounded in 2018, Syracuse-based Hidden Level develops and manufactures passive radio-frequency sensing hardware, software, and data services that turn activity across the spectrum into airspace intelligence. Its U.S.-made systems detect and track crewed and uncrewed aircraft—including RF-silent targets—for defense, public safety, and critical-infrastructure applications. The company now operates four Syracuse facilities, including an advanced manufacturing campus with an anechoic chamber for in-house system testing.SYRACUSE, NY
Raider Technologies LLCFounded by electrical engineer Aaron Jones, PhD, Raider Technologies is an Oakwood, Ohio developer of mission-critical radar and RF sensing technology. The company works with defense and government customers on low-altitude sensing for dense drone threats, taking concepts through prototype development and field evaluation. Its SkySweep software turns live sensor feeds into a shared operational view for counter-UAS teams.OAKWOOD, OH
GhostWave IncFounded in 2016, Columbus-based GhostWave develops stealth radar and emerging quantum sensing technologies built around patented pseudorandom RF noise waveforms. Its radars are designed to remain difficult to detect and resist interference, while the company applies the same technology to applications ranging from drone detect-and-avoid systems to Rydberg-atom sensing. GhostWave holds four exclusive patents from The Ohio State University and has evolved from a radar startup into a sensor-fusion company.COLUMBUS, OH
Signals DefenseFounded in Owings Mills in 1999, Signals Defense develops and supplies patented RF/IR-shielding window films and building-shielding materials for SCIFs and other secure work environments. Its optically clear films are engineered for U.S. Intelligence Community and Department of Defense requirements, including TEMPEST and ICD 705 standards, and the technology has been deployed at more than 3,000 locations. Signals Defense also provides architectural window films and related shielding products, and is now part of Lockmasters®.OWINGS MILLS, MD
