Since 1949, family-owned Harrison Bakery has baked breads, pastries, cakes, and its signature half moons for Syracuse customers. Founded by German immigrant Arthur Rothfeld on Harrison Street, the bakery moved to West Genesee Street in 1961 and is now carried on by third-generation owner Mike Rothfeld. Its recipes and traditions include specialty holiday and Rosh Hashanah baking, with half-moon icing still taught from the founding generation.
