Hughes Energy Group, a New York-based fiber production and green-technology company, uses its proprietary Wilson System® steam-autoclave process to turn organic waste into Wilson Fibre®, a feedstock for lower-carbon bio-products and fuels. Founded by Brendan Hughes after he entered the waste and renewable-energy sector in 2005, the company is the Wilson System’s sole representative in North America. Its facilities are designed to treat up to 175,000 tons of municipal solid waste annually while diverting up to 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent from the atmosphere.
