Hydro-Electrenergy Inc. is developing the Hydro-Electrenergy system, a proposed perpetual-motion apparatus intended to generate a continuous electric current by using gravity, buoyancy, and other natural forces rather than burning fossil fuels. The company says the electricity could also support hydrogen extraction from water, with a decentralized setup designed to provide energy without ongoing fuel costs or emissions. Its work centers on replacing conventional fossil-fuel energy with what it describes as a direct use of nature’s powers.

HydroCosmHydroCosm develops distributed hydrogen-generation solutions that use existing water operations and pressurized water infrastructure to produce clean energy close to where it is needed. Founded by Frank Zammataro, the company focuses on recovering wasted energy from water systems with small hydroelectric generators and using it to power electrolyzers for hydrogen production. Its work also extends to hydrogen mobility solutions for public and private fleets and collaboration with governments on infrastructure standards.NEW YORK, NY
Hydrogen Energy Systems, LLCFounded in Akron in 2007, Hydrogen Energy Systems, LLC develops hydrogen-fuel technology for internal-combustion engines, centered on its patented Hydrogen Mixing Block™. The device replaces a carburetor or electronic fuel injector so small engines can run mechanically on 100% compressed hydrogen, and the company has tested the system across engines from 6 to 13 horsepower. HES has also demonstrated the technology in a portable generator and a six-passenger golf shuttle prototype.AKRON, OH
Plug Power IncPlug Power develops and manufactures hydrogen fuel-cell and hydrogen-generation technologies as part of an end-to-end hydrogen ecosystem. The company says it created the first commercial market for fuel cells in material handling and has expanded into electrolyzers, hydrogen production and liquefaction, cryogenic infrastructure, and power generation.SLINGERLANDS, NY
Teledyne Energy Systems, IncFrom hydrogen electrolysis systems sold commercially since the 1970s to power units headed for the Moon, Teledyne Energy Systems develops energy-generation and storage systems for demanding environments. The Hunt Valley company has manufactured more than 700 electrolysis systems and also supplies fuel-cell, thermoelectric, radioisotope and battery technologies for space, subsea and remote terrestrial applications. Its space-power work includes radioisotope generators used on NASA’s Curiosity and Perseverance rovers.HUNT VALLEY, MD
