Founded in 1946 by Colonel James F. Allen and his wife, Sara, J.F. Allen Company remains rooted in the roadbuilding tradition carried by the Allen family since the 18th century. Based in Buckhannon, West Virginia, the company has grown into a Mid-Atlantic contractor known for keeping much of its construction work and material supply in-house. Its quarries have operated since 1975, producing more than one million tons of limestone each year for regional infrastructure projects.
