Opened in 2012, the Jacobs Institute is a nonprofit Buffalo medical innovation center created to advance vascular care by bringing clinical expertise into the development of medical technology. Its unusual setting between a university research institute and a vascular hospital lets device innovators work alongside practicing physicians, with the Idea to Reality Center supporting projects from early concepts through clinical preparation. The Institute also trains medical professionals and industry participants in a hands-on environment.
