Developed in Charleston, West Virginia by Jim Shafer in the mid-1980s, John Henry Drilling manufactures excavator-mounted rotary-percussion rock drills for demanding drilling and blasting work. Its John Henry machines are built on Caterpillar and Komatsu excavators, with the company also supplying rentals, OEM parts, and service for its drill fleet. The equipment is proudly made in the USA and supported by a crew whose experience includes Mark Gingerich, the longtime designer and builder known as the “Drill Doctor.”
