Born from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh-based Liquid X has made particle-free metallic inks since its 2010 founding and now takes printed-electronics applications from prototype to production. Its inks are printed directly onto materials such as fabric to create functional components, including textile force sensors, while the company’s in-house formulation, printing and testing work helps manufacturers move concepts toward commercialization. Liquid X earned OEKO-TEX Standard 100’s strictest, baby-safe rating for its silver ink on nonwoven polyester.
