Longford’s Ice Cream was founded by Nolan and Patricia West in 1992, beginning as a Port Chester shop where the couple made ice cream in the back for local chefs. Now based in Stamford, Connecticut, the company retains its small-batch approach while supplying the tri-state hospitality trade and operating scoop shops in the surrounding region. Westchester Magazine readers have voted it “Best Ice Cream” for more than a decade.
Ice Cream CottageSince opening in March 1990, Ice Cream Cottage has made premium ice cream and custom ice cream cakes in historic Mastic, Long Island. Its Chocolate Overdose was voted Best Chocolate Ice Cream by Newsday in 2012, and the shop won Newsday’s Best Ice-Cream Cone on Long Island by popular vote in 2016.
