Near Stroud in Gloucestershire, Martin Jennings makes public bronze sculpture, best known for portrait figures of writers, poets and other notable Britons. His work combines carefully modelled likenesses with carved text in stone or slate, and includes John Betjeman at St Pancras Station and the official coinage portrait of King Charles III. Jennings trained in calligraphy, lettercutting and stonecarving after studying English at Oxford, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
