Meadowbrooke Gourds grows and handcrafts decorative hard-shell gourds on a 200-acre farm in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. What began when farmer Ben Bear turned an overlooked crop into carved bells, birdhouses and snowmen in 1993 has grown into a small team crafting more than 250 kinds of gourds. Each piece takes nearly a year from seed to shelf and carries the natural variations of a farm-grown material.
