Founded in New York in 1917, family-owned Megerian Carpet makes handmade Armenian carpets while preserving the traditional double-knot weaving technique. The Megerian family began by repairing and trading antique rugs, later building an international manufacturing network before returning to Armenia in the 2000s and modernizing the Hye Gorg factories. Its Armenian cultural center combines the weaving facility with a museum of antique carpets, including pieces more than 400 years old, along with exhibitions and educational events.
