Self-taught woodworker Michael Yates has made fine, hand-crafted furniture since 2003, working with skilled artisans in Brooklyn, New York. His designs are developed around comfort, usability and careful detail, with custom commissions ranging from individual pieces to complete restaurant furniture packages. The studio’s work is produced in quantities from one to twenty and has been featured in publications including Architectural Record, Dwell and Fine Woodworking; it is currently on hiatus.
