Founded in Amherst, Ohio, in 1954 by brothers Eric and Evan Nord, Nordson Corporation makes precision manufacturing equipment for dispensing, coating and inspection. Its systems help manufacturers control processes ranging from adhesive bonding to industrial measurement, with a notable role in electric-vehicle battery production: Nordson says it invented the first hot-melt application for mobile battery packs more than 30 years ago. The company now operates in more than 35 countries, while its Measurement & Control Solutions division remains headquartered in Dayton, Ohio.
