Established in 2005, Brooklyn’s Oso Industries is a concrete design and fabrication studio that turns ambitious architectural and artistic ideas into highly customized work. Its team of artists and fabricators collaborates closely with designers, architects, and artists, from hand-troweled surfaces and cast elements to sculptural installations such as Lisa Solberg’s 11-foot concrete works and Jennie C. Jones’s travertine-like panels for The Met’s Roof Garden. Oso’s distinction is its willingness to treat concrete as both engineered material and artistic medium, working from an early concept—or even a napkin sketch—through fabrication and installation.
