OsteoDx develops an investigational, radiation-free device that measures bone mechanics noninvasively through its Cortical Bone Mechanics Technology (CBMT™). The Athens, Ohio company was co-founded by Brian Clark, a musculoskeletal health researcher, and its platform uses controlled vibration at the forearm to assess properties such as bending stiffness and flexural rigidity. CBMT has received more than $10 million in NIH-supported research and development and is intended for research and clinical-study settings rather than routine clinical use.
