Since 1995, Reg Barber has handcrafted made-to-measure coffee tampers in Canada, building on British Columbia woodworker Reg Barber’s invention of the modern two-part tamper. The company has made more than 150,000 tampers, including tools used by World Barista Championship winners and the distinctive tamper-topped championship trophies. Reg passed the business to Stanford-trained designer Michael Turri in 2020, while continuing to mentor the workshop team and its hand-finishing craft.
