Since establishing Shalestone Vineyards in 1995, the Thomas family has grown and hand-crafted exclusively dry red wines on the eastern slope of Seneca Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes. The family’s 6.5-acre vineyard produces about 1,500 cases annually, with son Seth joining as vineyard manager in 2008 and becoming head winemaker in 2016. Shalestone’s wines are shaped by the region’s shallow, clay-rich soil and distinctive lake microclimate.
