Since 1947, Suburban has made the furnaces, water heaters and cooking appliances that bring the comforts of home to RVs, manufacturing from its longtime base in Dayton, Tennessee. The company began with gas space heaters and entered the RV market after adapting a greenhouse heater for 12-volt motorhome use, a practical origin that still shapes its focus on RV climate control, water heating and indoor and outdoor kitchens. Suburban became part of the Airxcel family in 1998 and remains one of Dayton’s largest employers.
Empire FaucetsSince 1950, Empire Faucets has supplied specialized faucets and plumbing accessories for recreational vehicles and manufactured housing, with its products finished and tested in its own Cleveland, Ohio, factory. Adams Manufacturing CompanyFounded in 1945 by Sidney Schonberger, Adams Manufacturing Company makes heating and indoor-air equipment, from its original gas conversion burners to furnaces, unit heaters and air cleaners. The Cleveland manufacturer expanded its facilities to 75,000 square feet while adding the Dornback furnace line, and remains a family-run business led by the Schonberger family. Jamestown Advanced ProductsFounded in Jamestown, New York, in 1987 as a small fabrication shop, Jamestown Advanced Products now manufactures American-made campground and park furnishings, including RV power outlets and outdoor cooking equipment. Woman-owned and family-run since Jon Wehrenberg’s daughter Wendi and her husband Lee bought the company in 1999, it also provides custom sheet-metal fabrication and electrostatic powder coating.
