Sunbolt grew out of a post–Hurricane Sandy idea for off-grid charging and now assembles solar workstations, outdoor charging furniture, and compact solar kits in the United States. Founded by Ian Jones and Jim Innes, the company began with its ConnecTable charging station, which found an early audience across the University of California system, before becoming Sunbolt in 2018. Its products are used in outdoor spaces across the United States and Mexico, with installations also reaching Canada, Puerto Rico, and Togo.
