SunThru develops highly transparent silica aerogel monoliths and integrates them into window insulating glass units. The company’s prototype delivers triple-pane performance in a unit with the thickness and weight of double-pane glass, and SunThru is now scaling its manufacturing process from laboratory production to window-sized monoliths. Its work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, NYSERDA, Fuzehub and Union College’s Aerogel Lab.
