Founded in Dayton in 1962 as Superior Rotary Tools, Superior Abrasives now manufactures coated and nonwoven abrasive products for grinding, finishing and polishing. Its history reaches back to Dayton’s abrasive-specialty trade in 1942, and the company supplies standard products while its engineers develop tailored solutions for demanding aerospace, medical and power-generation applications. The business moved into a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Vandalia in 2016 and became part of the RÜGGEBERG GROUP in 2012.
