Founded by Roger R. Elston after his dairy-farming years, Syracuse Fiber Recycling turns paper-mill waste fiber into dairy cow bedding at its Syracuse, New York operation. The family-owned company returned to family operation in 2012 and now processes about 1,500 tons of fiber each week, supplying more than 70 farms across four states. Its work gives paper-mill residue a productive use while providing dairy farms with a recycled bedding material.
