Since opening its Tiffin plant in 1996, TAIHO Corporation of America has made automotive engine bearings, bushings and vacuum-pump assemblies through the tribology expertise of its Japanese parent, Taiho Kogyo. The wholly owned subsidiary, founded in 1981, now operates two Tiffin plants totaling 187,500 square feet and employs 223 people. TAIHO’s Ohio operation was the first Taiho overseas facility to mass-produce polymer-coated bearings and serves major automakers and suppliers.
