Founded in 1915 by Sicilian cabinet maker Thomas M. Amato, this Long Island City family business repairs, restores, and renews office and other fine furniture. Now run by third-generation brothers John and Peter Amato, the company carries that Old World craftsmanship into a 15,000-square-foot facility, where its team handles everything from antique restoration to custom reupholstery and architectural woodwork. Some staff members have been with Amato for 30 years or more.
