Nearly a century after its founding in 1926, Lancaster-based VisionCorps combines manufacturing and food processing with its mission of employing people who are blind or vision impaired. Its Business & Industry Group operates three manufacturing facilities and an enclave kitting operation, serving public and private-sector customers through production and administrative services. VisionCorps is a member agency of National Industries for the Blind under the AbilityOne program, and its Lancaster facility is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

The Abilities Connection (TAC Industries)Since 1980, Springfield nonprofit The Abilities Connection—known in its manufacturing work as TAC Industries—has paired meaningful employment for people with disabilities and other barriers with contract manufacturing, including cargo nets for the U.S. Air Force. TAC has produced more than one million cargo nets and remains the sole-source supplier of those nets to the Air Force, while also providing industrial sewing, assembly and third-party logistics services. Portage Industries, IncFounded in 1970, Portage Industries, Inc. combines a vocational and day-services program for individuals with disabilities with a subcontracting operation that handles packaging, light assembly, inspection and other labor-intensive work for local and multinational companies. Its customer-specific quality procedures and BatchMaster IV packaging machine support projects ranging from small jobs to larger production runs, while the work itself helps participants build job skills, confidence and independence.
