At a Laytonsville farm whose roots reach back to a 1932 Maryland summer camp, Waredaca Brewing Company makes beer in a setting still shaped by horses, family and agriculture. The Butts family has kept the property in the same location since 1953, and the brewery reuses an existing farm building while working to reduce waste and water use. Spent grain goes to a local farmer or the farm’s compost, reinforcing Waredaca’s long-running stewardship of the land.
