Spun out of Cornell University’s Spencer Research Group, Ithaca-based Widetronix designs and manufactures betavoltaic power sources and ultra-low-power sensor platforms built to operate for more than 25 years. Founded in 2008 to commercialize silicon carbide betavoltaics, the company now develops autonomous sensing systems and custom research devices for qualified customers in demanding applications. Its work is led by CEO Jonathan Greene, CTO Dr. Chris Thomas, and founder and chief scientific advisor Dr. Michael Spencer.
