From a rug-trading business begun by Abraham Moradzadeh in 1960, Los Angeles-based Woven has grown into a creative studio that curates antique and vintage rugs while designing its own handwoven contemporary collection, Studio Woven. Launched in 2016, Studio Woven draws on the company’s deep archive of old rugs to combine Eastern tradition with West Coast design, often using texture, color and references from architecture and art. Led by Sam Moradzadeh and Danielle Barr, Woven operates galleries in Los Angeles, New York and London.
