From a 2015 Instagram account devoted to “hideous cakes,” Alexis Ong has built Cakes By Lexi into a Manhattan bespoke cookie studio creating miniature edible artwork for New York celebrations, corporate events, and brands. Her background in typography and graphic design shows in the studio’s crisp, colorful, intricately lettered cookies, including brand logos and products recreated in sugar. Cakes By Lexi is a woman-owned, Asian-American-owned small business that makes orders to order and composts all organic waste.
